Attention Teamsters Local 399 Drivers: Can You Help out Anthony?
Want to help out an amazing cause this weekend?
We need Drivers to donate equipment and/or their time this Saturday and Sunday supporting the important efforts of Make a Film Foundation.
Make a Film Foundation grants Film Wishes to children who have serious or life-threatening medical conditions by teaming them with film industry professionals who help them to create short film legacies. We are hoping you can help us in making our current film for Anthony Conti, a 16-year-old boy who is on hospice with Stage 4 metastatic adrenal cortical cancer. He’s been in and out of fosters his whole life and his pain was sadly overlooked until just recently when they found cancer in his entire body. Anthony is from Walpole, MA, and as part of his final wish is to complete and act in his movie. The goal of the foundation is to have the child help write and star in the film. Although Anthony’s spirit remains strong, his health is deteriorating very rapidly, and we need to make the film right away.
We will be finishing the shoot this weekend and need more volunteers to help make Anthony’s dream come true.
We are looking for Members that are able to donate equipment, serve as van drivers, or able to donate their time for the entirety of the day on Saturday, November 19th or Sunday, November 20th. We are also looking for Members to help with pickups on Friday, November 18th or possible returns on Monday, November 21st.
Please contact Local 399 Member Lance Cherniet by either call or text: 818-266-9534 to sign up to assist this weekend or for more information regarding what might be needed.
As with all Make A Film Foundation films, everyone is a volunteer, and their films screen at numerous film festivals to bring awareness to the disease of each child. They have all won numerous awards. They have a talented team of volunteers already helping to direct, write, act and edit this film. Please consider donating your time this weekend!
