IATSE, Teamsters, IBEW, LiUNA!, OPCMIA, and UA to join together ahead of negotiations for an all-Hollywood solidarity rally.

Los Angeles, CA — Announced today, the Hollywood crew unions will host a pre-negotiations kick-off rally on Sunday, March 3rd at Woodley Park in Encino. Bargaining with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers will begin the following day on Monday, March 4th.

Behind every production is a skilled team of technicians, artisans and craftspeople that make up the crew that brings episodic television or feature films to life. In this year’s negotiation cycle, the crewmember unions are committed to addressing the unique priorities of each craft represented in the fight to protect, preserve, and improve economic gains, retirement and health benefits and safe working conditions on and off set.

This year’s bargaining cycle marks the first time since 1988 that IATSE, Teamsters and the Hollywood Basic Crafts will jointly bargain health and pension benefits for their members under the shared Motion Picture Pension and Health Plan. From there, IATSE will continue negotiations of their IATSE Hollywood Basic Agreement and the IATSE Area Standard Agreement contracts and local union specific issues. Teamsters and Hollywood Basic Crafts are expected to bargain with the AMPTP in early June for their Local classification specific issues.

Hollywood crewmembers were greatly impacted by last year’s dual strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA. Despite being collateral damage to the prolonged negotiations and work stoppage of last year, crewmembers’ part of IATSE, Teamsters and the Hollywood Basic Crafts have shared they will be bargaining from a position of strength and leverage with the AMPTP; reminding Hollywood, that nothing moves without the crew. This rally is an opportunity to show the collective power, skill and resilience of crewmembers and recognize the important contribution to filmmaking each craft behind-the-scenes brings to production.

The rally is open to all of Hollywood labor as a show of solidarity and support for this year’s bargaining cycle in Hollywood:
