We are asking our Members to join our Port Driver Brothers and Sisters as they fight unfair wages and practices!
Beginning Thursday November 13, 2014 Locals will join together on the Picket Lines to stand in solidarity and fight for fair wages alongside our Port Drivers.
The struggle by Port Drivers against wage theft and misclassification as “independent contractors” has only intensified since the strike in July. The trucking companies have retaliated by:
- FIRING 35 DRIVERS
- IGNORING COURT ORDERS TO RETURN DRIVERS TO WORK
- CUTTING WORKLOADS AND ACCELERATING DEDUCTIONS FROM DRIVERS PAY CHECK
The entire LA Labor movement needs to help stand with our Brothers & Sisters on the picket lines.
WHEN: Thursday, November 13th through Thursday, November 20
TIMES: 4 or 8-hour shifts starting at 6AM, 1PM, 8PM
WHERE: Report to Teamsters Local 848 and get dispatched to a picket line
